WE’RE CELEBRATING WITH FREE TACOS!

California Tortilla was voted “Best Mexican” in the Washingtonian Magazine’s Reader Survey and on Tuesday, August 12th we’re going to celebrate our win with free tacos.

That’s right—just go to any Cal Tort on Tuesday, August 12th and we’ll give you a free, delicious taco. All you have to do is say the secret password “Cal Tort rocks” to the spunky cashier. (I lobbied for “Mr. Pickles” as the password, but no one listens to me.)

Anyway, we hope you’ll come in on the 12th and enjoy a free taco on us. We couldn’t have done it without you!

*One free, delicious taco per person. Thanks.

SPEAKING OF SHRIMP

The Bangkok Shrimp Specials are back for just a limited time! They’re all amazingly tasty and you’ve still got time to get one. GO!

THIS JUST IN…

The other day I was reading (it could happen) and I came across an article that talked about millennials. And since we employ hundreds of millennials and feed thousands more, I thought, “I should read this!” With just that much enthusiasm.

So here’s what I learned about millennials:

-They want to make their own work schedules. (Which I’m okay with as long as you’re okay with ordering your Cal Tort burrito outside the hours of 9-5. And at their house.)

-They want their paper products to be environmentally friendly. Yay! Ours are–down to the napkins that we’re told are made out of cane sugar. (Do you think the premise is that instead of throwing them away you can just eat them?)

-They want their food fresh and they want to be able to customize it. (I’m not sure this is unique to millennials though. As far as I can tell, so do Baby Boomers, Gen Xers, the Silent Generation and the one lady left in Japan who was born in the 1800’s.)

-They want their information in the shortest format possible; they don’t read things like newsletters anymore. (Yikes.)

-They really like hats. (Okay, that’s my own observation.) But if you’ve ever been to a Cal Tort on shark fin hat day, coal miner hat day, birthday hat day, etc. you know of what I speak.

I think that about sums it up. With that said, we love our millennial customers and if by some chance you’re still reading this, I want you to know that I’m diligently working on Pirate Patch Day. Keep your fingers crossed.

AND FINALLY…

Are you ready to rock and roll? Of course you are. And lookie here: If you answer the question below correctly, you’ll be eligible to win 2 tickets to the Ed Sheeran concert at Merriweather Post Pavillion on September 6th. (You know Ed—he sings the “Lego House” song. I love that song.)

Here goes…

What very famous person shares a birthday with California Tortilla? (Bonus points if you can get this person to give us a shout out.)

Email your answer to: contests@930.com Good luck!

On that note, I hope you’re all having a fabulous, pirate-patch wearing summer!
